We’ve begun!

Myself, the students, Amy Benzie and Brodie Birss and my son Max are busy on the prelimary parts of the kiln.

The trickiest part of the kiln building is the arches.

We’re building formers from bricks and clay, and then from that the mix of clay and adobe is growing. Taking away the bricks was a heart stopping moment! But, all seems solid and holding up well.

Today everything is covered up due to the rain. We are hoping for better weather this weekend so we are ready for our kind and slighty crazy volunteers next week.
