Studio Pottery

I have been throwing pots for over 30 years, and the pieces I make have changed a great deal over the years.

My work is influenced by Japanese and Korean tradition, not so much in the specific forms but in notion of wabi-sabi; that perfection can be found in the inperfection of nature.

It is important to me that the forms I make should express the fluidity on the wet clay even once they are fired and also that they contain marks and impressions from the making process.

I also like their surfaces to be enhanced not only by the glaze application, but also by the flame path across them in the kiln.

I make a variety of different objects, but among my favourite things are large chargers, bowls, moon jars and urns. They are all simple shapes, but in them there is a search for pure, satisfying form.

    • Hi Jackie, Because everything is individual it isn’t possible to have photos of everything on the website with prices. But if there is something that you have seen on the website that is of particular interest I could send you prices. I need to update the site as much is sold, but I can also send photos of similar pieces as well. I hope this helps. Best wishes Jenny

  1. Hi, I’m looking for a large charger with a blue colour to the center, either glaze or ‘enamel finish. around 8-12 if possible? Looking to promote all things local and wondered if this is possible? looking forward to hearing from you. Stuart

    • Hi Stuart, Thanks for the enquiry, the chargers that are pictured on the website are about 50 to 60 cm across, is that what you are looking for? I would be delighted make some pieces for you, but I am just finnishing building a new kiln at the moment so there will be a delay before it is all up and running. First firing will be in May, and the second in June. Did the 8-12 number in your message refer to the number of pieces that you are interested in? or the size? Look foreward to hearing further from you. Best wishes Jenny

  2. Good afternoon. Just wondering if you offer a mail-order service on your studio pottery items, I particularly love your moon jars and would like to give one as a present to my wife.
    Many thanks, Geoff Lampshire, Exeter
